During his campaign, Mayor-elect Bill de Blasio pledged that, “The City must take decisive and sustained action to reduce street fatalities each year until we have achieved “Vision Zero” — a city with zero fatalities or serious injuries caused by car crashes on the streets of New York.” Better infrastructure and more aggressive traffic law enforcement will make de Blasio’s Vision Zero a reality, but it’s up to New Yorkers to identify where and how.
Get hands-on with online maps and other interactive tools to pinpoint problems in your neighborhood and share your ideas for how to make your street safer. Everyone’s participation will produce a targeted blueprint of problem areas and community-supported solutions.
