Planners in Lane County, Oregon want residents to help them prioritize the next 20 years of transportation projects, and they’re using Shareabouts to gather comments on local road conditions, bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure, and transit.
As Lane County spokesperson Anne Marie Levis says in the local news station KMTR’s story about the collaborative map, planners can’t drive all Lane County roads every day, so residents’ reports are a good way to make sure issues are brought to their attention. She also makes the point that not everyone can attend public meetings, and the map can help ensure that all voices are heard.
Over 200 comments have been added to the map already. Are you a Lane County resident? Add your thoughts, too.
