The public engagement company Crowdspot is using a Shareabouts map to ask people what public transportation improvements they’d like to see. They’ve gotten close to 650 places added to the map so far, and as Crowdspot’s Director, Anthony Aisenberg told me, “the map is importantly providing a great way to help people understand that there is so much that needs to be done to improve public transport/transit improvements instead of building a AUS$14billion road tunnel.”
Aisenberg continued, “On a basic level the map is providing a great way to visualise the spatial distribution of transport mode improvements required throughout the city. Also, we along with users think that the the open, visual and social environment of the platform helps encourage greater levels of participation beyond other methods such as online surveys and petitions.”
